And finally,
I'm not being as diligent with the camera these days but here's some of the fun stuff we've been up to. Oh and, Justin was out of town for a few days and while he was the kids and I wrote this song for him:
Alphabet hopscotch! Whatever letter your rock lands on is the letter you have to give the sounds for. It's been really fun and helpful for Ani. Miles of course does it in his own way. Just as fun! Hopscotch turns into biking, skating, scootering...
Ani does no hands biking so Miles has to try, he's almost got it!
We had some friends over for dinner and this is what Ani picked out of her cookbook to make.
We made a compost jar so we can watch the process. Of course this photo was taken a few weeks ago by now. The flowers were the first to go, we can't even see them anymore. The banana, apple and plum are a little slower to turn into dirt.
Ani made A, B, C, 1 & 2, and beads that she made a necklace out of out of baking clay.
Miles made this shark. It's a Mako shark, the fastest shark.
We pressed these flowers from our garden then Modge Podged them onto wax paper.
Pumpkin carving! Or, drilling in Miles case. He LOVED drilling holes in his pumpkin. Ani liked it too but was much more interested in the art of pumpkin carving.
We roasted the pumpkin seeds and Ani wanted to open a stand out front and sell them. She is such an entrepreneur! Thankfully there are enough friends, family and Justin's coworkers to support her business ventures.
Last week was D week and we made our D's into doors. Ani is so creative and has such amazing ideas about the projects we do.
Ani sewing her D flag.
While Ani sews her flag, I go back and forth between helping her and helping Miles build train tracks.
Another one of Ani's business ventures: pom poms. She sold out of these too and had some orders to make more, thanks to Justin's co-workers.
More to come soon!!
Oh Daddy how we love you so and all the ways you make us laugh
your beard it tickes and it makes us giggle
you dance so funny and you call me honey
you make me laugh with your funny jokes
and when my armpit your finger pokes
Oh Daddy how we love you so and all the ways you make us laugh
your smile shines bright, you lay with us at night
we think your the man when you take us in your van
you work so hard to pay our bills and to fund all of our thrills
Oh Daddy how we love you so!
When Justin came home we sang it for him with Ani on the drums and Miles on guitar. They rock!

coming soon!
I can't seem to find the time to post the hundreds of photos I've taken in the last week and a half. Soon! Very soon! Maybe even tonight...

C week part 2
Here's week 3 part 2. I'm going to start including photos that aren't directly home school related. There is all sorts of fun stuff that goes on that's not technically "school". A friend asked Ani what she learned this week and she replied, "Nothing." Hopefully that means it's all just so much fun that it doesn't feel like school. I'm going to go with that for now.
Here are some photos of the kids notebooks that we work in almost every day.

This is Ani's picture of Summer. There's water slides, apple trees, blueberry bushes and of course, sun.

This was part of 'C' week. At first she drew her C and didn't like it because it looked like a banana. So, she just turned it into a banana. On the left are some yummy C words.

We read a story about deer. Here are Ani's deer. On the right is the daddy buck with antlers and the right is a baby girl deer with a bow on her head.

Ani saw the pile of toilet paper rolls I had been collecting. She gathered them, some tissue paper, ribbon and rice and taught us how to make shakers. She is so creative. It was all her own idea and I could see her thinking about how she was going to make it and how she was going to teach us to make them. I really like the sound of them and want to use them when Justin and I play.
This is the longest piece Ani has ever finger knitted.
These are the pinwheels we made.

These are the crescent rolls we made. This was the most C looking one.
We went to Elijah's football game Saturday morning.
